Behind the scenes there is a lot of activity going on to produce lovely bespoke items for sale from our Smeafield Coloured Ryeland wool. The range will include jewellery which we are branding Ewellery. The majority of our flock are females hence ‘Ewe’llery as our brand.
The chunky socks are also being hand-knitted as well as trendy hats and other gift items.
The majority of our products this year are made from solely from our own wool. However where different colours are introduced these will be sourced locally from friends flocks and it will be marked on the label whether the item is solely from our flock ours or has other wool added. But the item will be 100% wool.
Next year we will not need to source wool from beyond our farm as we will have such a lovely range of colours from our flock. So we will have the rich brown tones as we do this year from our Coloured Ryelands, plus the blacks and greys from our Black North Country Cheviots, and white from our White North Country Cheviots.
