Introducing Dotty – not the best photo but one that shows you how we named her! Dotty is ditsy….. she has taken the longest to get friendly. She has only recently just started to eat from your hand, she would hang around at the back of the group and was just a bit more untrusting than the others, taking longer than the others to enjoy a head rub, but we have got there with her. At feed time she cant stand still….she has to pace and chew, she is just a little more energetic than our others! This photo also shows you just how different those woolly Coloured Ryelands look soon after being sheared.
Sadly Dotty was carrying twins but aborted due to the Toxoplasmosis. I will breed her with Greenfield Pendragon again this year. Dotty is a pretty ewe and has a smaller head than the others which will help matters at lambing! I think Pendragon will compliment Dotty’s conformation very well.
