Ryeland Spirits
Ryeland Spirits are an exquisite combination of North and South.
Heritage, pride and passion are incredibly important to Company Owner Angie who originates from Northumberland.
The inspiration behind Ryeland Spirits comes from their own flock of Smeafield Coloured Ryelands. This flock have numerous Champion Wins in the show ring, they all have their own names, they are beautiful characters, and primarily are kept for their wool and showing.
The handmade wool jewellery produced from the flock’s wool is a global seller, has been featured in fashion magazines and on the ‘catwalk’.
The beautiful water used in our Spirits stems back to Northumbria. This amazing natural crystal water used for our spirits is of the finest in the country.
The Smeafield Coloured Ryeland flock and our Ryeland Spirits business are based both in Devon and Hampshire, but have firm roots in the North too.
Ryeland Gin
Quite simply it is ‘stand out’ from the rest. Our Gin is smooth enough you can drink it neat, and many people do just that. We actively encourage customers to actually sample ours neat and then go try others in the same way. What happens? Customers come back to us for our incredibly smooth and beautiful Gin.
Our gin does not need to hide behind a tonic. But of course you can drink Ryeland Gin accompanied with a tonic; it sits beautifully with a number of tonics because it is such a versatile Gin.
Some of the botanicals we use include Lavender which offers sweetness to the palate and a pleasant aroma. Rosemary, known as ‘dew of the sea’, and is such a versatile and popular herb. And coriander which tantalises the taste buds with a hint of lemon & lime. There are a couple more carefully selected ingredients we use in the creation of our ‘smooth’ gin which we will happily tell you about.
Ryeland Gin is 37.5% abv and is presented to you in our iconic black bottle with pewter coloured label and standing proud on the front is our gorgeous girl ‘Gale’.
Ryeland Spiced Rum
This is quite simply in a league of its own. The base rum used is from Guyana. The sugar cane here is grown on the edge of the incredible Demerara River. It is distilled in beautiful copper stills and is then aged in Virgin Oak Barrels before making its way to a beautiful island in the North Sea. It is on this stunning North Sea island that the magic occurs creating us the most incredible Ryeland Spiced Rum.
Our Ryeland Spiced Rum is 37.5% abv and is presented to you in beautiful white bottles with copper coloured labels. Our own beautiful girl Gale is featured proudly on the front.
Two Little Words:
There are two little words that are repeated time after time after by our customers when they sample our Ryeland Gin and Ryeland Spiced Rum. The Gin word is ‘Smooth’ and the Spiced Rum word is ‘Wow’.
We are so incredibly proud of what we do. Our Ryeland Spirits form part of an entire story. They are ‘Ewenique in their creation and are Rammed with flavour’.
No other Spirits Company has a story or ‘Team’ quite like ours.
